Dementia Action Week: May 2022
The theme for Dementia Action Week in 2022 was about the importance of getting a diagnosis. During the week, there was a Denim for Dementia day organised by the Alzheimer’s Society. The day aimed to encourage everyone to do something fun with their denim items, whilst also learning about dementia. Working with Ghyll Royd School and Bradford Council, we arranged an informative talk about dementia, at their school assembly. Ross Collard from Bradford Council (Assistand Ward Officer for Baildon and Shipley) presented alongside our new Dementia Friendly Communities Co-ordinator for Bradfiord and District. The school raised a fantastic £118.61 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
You can find out more about memory loss and getting a dementia diagnosis on The Alzheimer's Society website here.
